transfer file from a https page

I am new in Perl and I need some help with the following,
from a Unix box I want to transfer a file that is in https page port 443, in where I have to put username and password to go inside, but I don't have any idea how to do it, somebody can help me with it. Also an basic example will be welcome

My recommendation is to use the WWW::Mechanize module from CPAN to connect through the HTTPS.

If that is all you need to do I would look at the LWP module. Look over this page carefully:
