Look into the CGI module for form generation and form processing and the DBI module for your database interface. DBI is not a core module though so it may need to be installed.

HI thanks for the response but I have no DBI modules or anything i can install as i do not have access to the server but as far as I know this should be quite straight forward and may be i did not explain my question correctly I will try to reexplain here.

Basically I have a form which accepts curtomer_id and when submited displays the record as a single row in the HTML format. We will get only one record as custoemr_id is primary key.

I want exactly the same thing to happen except that i need the display as a HTML form instead of HTML table so taht the user can view the data and make changes if required.

I guess this is clear

Thanks

Not clear to me. But if you need to access a databse and you can't use the DBI module you will have to write it all out by hand I guess. I have never done that myself. As fas as the form goes, like I already said, look into the CGI module, it comes with perl so should be installed. You can read all the core perl module documentation on http://perldoc.perl.org

This should be easily achieved. It will just be a matter of writing your script to display the data in the form. Just populate value attribute of your texbox with the data you from your DB. Read up on the HTML portion of the CGI pm.
