Translate UNC to Local Mapped Drive

Is there a way to translate a UNC Path to a Locally Mapped path?

For example: Is it possible to change from \\deville.net\software\Tack to N:\Tack

This would make my program more universal rather than having every user on the network changing the .ini files paths.

Not sure, but have a look at CPAN.

Path::Class
URI::file
Path::Resource
