Conversion from floating point to character type

can anyone please give me the code to convert a variable in floating point format to varchar type?

Say the variable is x.. the logic i am lookin for is,

if var = x
then
output should be .. to_char(x)...

Ca anyone please help me out?

I am unable to get a clear understanding of your question. Please better explain your question, show us what you have tried, show an actual example of what you want to achieve.

Meanwhile, read up on sprintf
