/etc/fb.modes scripts HELP!!

Hi i am new to Perl scripting language and i was wondering if anyone can help me out? im using the file /etc/fb.modes and i want to write individual script that will do the following

skill all the comments, empty lines and lines beginning with whitespace

skip all the endmode lines

split the lines where the hyphens are on the header line and print out the first two fields on seperate lines followed by ===================
e.g mode 640 X 480
75"
==============
Your help will be much appreciated.

Well, we can do what we can to help you, but you have to remember that this is not a script writing service. That means that you are going to have to do all the legwork and we will help you when you get stuck. Doing is the basis of learning and we strongly believe and enforce that here. :-)

That said, why not post the code you have been trying and we will help you. Please do not forget to post the code enclosed in the proper [code] [/code] tags.

In addition to your code, please post the contents of the file you are parsing (for those who are not on a Unix system or don't have access to one).
