Installing Expect.pm on HP-UX

1
Hi,
I am trying to install Expect.pm on HP-UX. I get the following error:

-------------------------------------------------------------------
$ perl Makefile.PL PREFIX=/brm_oravl01/oracle/kanwar/usr/local
Warning: prerequisite IO::Pty 1 not found at (eval 1) line 221.
Warning: prerequisite IO::Tty 1 not found at (eval 1) line 221.

Stop.

----------------------------------------------------------
I have installed IO::Tty and it compiled without errors or warnings and all tests succeeded.

Please advise on what could be the issue here.

Thanks,
Kanwar

no idea.

I specifically always let cpan do all of the installation heavy lifting. This helps ensure that all the modules are installed in the correct location and all dependencies are installed:

cpanfaq How do I install Perl modules?

Unfortunately, this means that I have no idea what your problem could be. However, note that Expect does not work on all systems, but I'm pretty sure it should work on yours.

In addition to what Miller said, when I setup the CPAN interface on my systems, I always set it up to "follow". What that does is, if you are installing a module (such as Expect.pm) and it runs across a pre-requisite, cpan goes ahead and automatically installs the prerequisite before finishing the module installation. I find this a lot easier, or you will spend your time installing modules by hand when CPAN does the build and installation for you automatically. I agree with Miller, use CPAN if you can, it will save you the extra (not necessary) effort.

Regards,

Jeff
