Well, that is a question with multiple answers. You could open the file. You could slurp it in. There are a couple ways to do it. You may want to read this page for an example of opening a file.

Please know that this forum is a help forum and not a script writing service. We do require that you try to write the code yourself and thus, always like to see what you have tried so we can guide you in the right direction. So, next time, please be sure to post the code that you have tried already.

Also, there are a number of good Perl tutorials out there for your reading pleasure. One site that is a great reference is perldoc.perl.org, which contains all of the perl documentation, as well as some quickie tutorial-like references. Check the site out. Also, I highly recomend you pick up Learning Perl 4th Edition, as it is an outstanding tutorial and reference. Many will point you to the Camel book (Programming perl), but I believe this one to give a better tutorial overall.
