Automating the key 'Enter'

Hi folks,
I have an application here which needs user intervention while running.
Here's the format -
When I run the application "opcack", it asks for some values like following -

Message Text Pattern (none) :
Severity (none) :
Time From (none) :
Time To (none) :
Unmatched Messages only (n) :
Node Name (none) :

Now, when I dont need to enter any value for any of these, I will just press "Enter" and make the application to proceed until "Node name" where I enter a calue.
Is there any possibility of automating this? i.e I need to automate the process of manually pressing the "Enter" key and then provide with a value when it asks for 'Node Name'.

I tried the following, but it didnt work.

#! /usr/bin/perl
system "opcack -u opc_adm". "\r";
print "\r";
print "\r";
print "\r";
print "\r";
print "\r";
print "node.com";
