I never do any pdf stuff with perl, so I can't answer any questions, but a quick search on CPAN found this module:

CAM::PDF

which might do what you want.

i have tried ur suggestion and followed that CAM::pdf but i am getting this type of answer in my output..
Can't locate CAM/PDF.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0...

That means the module needs to be installed.

http://www.cpan.org/modules/INSTALL.html

if you are using activestate perl on windows see the PPM help files that comes with the activestate perl distribution.

how to open a pdf file with username and password
Barani,

I also only have limitted experience working with PDFs. But I've never heard of password protecting a pdf, and very much doubt that you're going to find a cpan module to do it even if it is possible.

Miller,

Quoted from CAM::PDF

Important Note: Most PDF readers (Acrobat, Preview.app) only offer one password field for opening documents. So, if the $ownerpass and $userpass are different, those applications cannot read the documents. (Perhaps this is a bug in CAM::PDF?)
