Problem handling textarea from a form

Hi,
I've got an html form with a big textarea. It's max 90 lines, 58 chars per line (there is a script that, when you write the form, cuts off the 59th char and warns you not to go beyond 58 chars per line). The textarea will be sent to a cgi script that writes me a mail (i'm using a self-customized version of FormMail). I have also to keep "early carriage returns", so not all the lines will be 58 chars... i definitely have to keep the original carriage returns from the html form. How do I handle this in a cgi form? when data flows from an html form to a cgi script is there a way to save the eol?

Hope someone could help me :)

The carraige returns are saved, you shouldn't need to do anything.

Hello Darven,

The only thing that you need to do is study up on the wrap attribute on the textarea form field. This is what specifies how the browser handles carriage returns when posting the form. Here's one resource that I quickly found on google, but you might just want to open up your own html reference book.

PS,
This is more an html rather than perl issue. Nevertheless, I understand why you would have posted about it there.
