Can anyone tel me frm whre can i get perl materials or e-books.
First, not to be a stickler, but please check your spelling when posting. It will make your post(s) more intelligible and easier to read when they are longer. When you are editing, the editor underlines words with a red line to show that it is either mis-spelled or that it does not recognize. Please note that this is not SMS and your aren't getting chaged for each character.
Now, about your request. e-books can be found here and there. One of the most comprehensive resources is the
O'Reilly Safari Bookshelf . Yes, you have to pay in order to read the books, but it is relatively cheap compared to buying all the books you can examine. Then, on the flip side, there are some free e-books out there. One in particular is
Beginning Perl by Simon Cozens. Also, here is a link to a
list of some free Perl books . That should get you started on that front. If you do some searching, you can find some not-so-legally posted copies of the O'Reilly Bookshelves, usually including one of the versions of the Perl bookshelf.
You will definitely want to do a search in Google for Perl and come up with whatever resource links you can. There are far to many to list here, but a good place to go other than forums to ask questions is definitely either
PerlMonks or the #perl IRC channel. Randal Schwartz, Tom Phoenix, Brian d Foy and others frequent the #perl channel to answer user questions of all experience levels, but make sure that you have checked ALL of your resources first and cannot find the answer anywhere as they can be a bit harsh on those who don't RTFM. ( can you blame them? I don't).
That said, you will want a copy of "Learning Perl" and even the camel book ("Programming Perl") as they are great books and bibles unto themselves. Of course "Mastering Regular Expressions" is also right next to me as well.
Well, I hope that at least points you in the right direction. You have a lot of legwork to do on your own, but that is part of the adventure of learning Perl. Enjoy and Happy Coding!!!
