Leaving

I have answered questions here for a few weeks, but I feel that the forum is too much of a help desk for those who don't bother to make sufficient efforts of their own, so I'm leaving. I get too little in return, and it's not fun.

A better place IMO for questions of the level typically seen here is the Beginners Mailing List. For more advanced problems, the Usenet group comp.lang.perl.misc is a very good place.

I have very much appreciated your activity in this forum, and completely agree with your assessment. I'm actually surprised that you've given it this long, as I lost interest in helping most people after spending my first month on this forum.

I've found you posts to very informative sometimes, not to mention humorous. "You error is on line 38 of you script" :)

I currently spend most of my time helping the people at tek-tips. And I also browse perlmonks often.

Unfortunately, this website and therefore community are still very new. It is mostly filled with newbies and students who aren't really interested in using a forum for it's best advantage yet.

I look forward to seeing you on other forums hopefully.

Thanks,
- Miller
