I would like to know how to sort the rows in an Excel file, using Perl.
Four Steps:
1) Read Data into Memory
- Use Spreadsheet::ParseExcel to read the old excel file.
- http://search.cpan.org/search?query=Spreadsheet::ParseExcel
2) sort
- Use perl's sort function to sort your data appropriately. Obviously you'll need to come up with your own data structure probably to save the info from the excel file.
3) Write Data to new Excel File
- Use Spreadsheet::WriteExcel to write to a new excel file
- http://search.cpan.org/search?query=Spreadsheet::WriteExcel
4) Delete Old File and rename New File to Old Filename.
