Does any1 know how to write a calculator program in perl which does the following?
add,subtract,multiply, divide , roots,gcd.
Some of the operations are integer only operation, such as mod, root and gcd , and some should work for both integers and floating point numbers, such as add and sub.

First read perlop and learn about the various operators perl has to offer. Then search for a module at CPAN that will help with the more difficult tasks.
