Cloudscape and Perl

Just wondering since IBM donated Cloudscape to the Apache Foundation
....

Does anyone know if Perl can use Cloudscape, and if so, how Cloudscape
stacks up against the alternatives?

I've used Access a lot and SQL Server some tho' not with Perl, and
MySQL a lot and Postgres some with Perl. The recent news about MySQL
AB rethinking the MySQL license got me wondering about Cloudscape ...
just in case MySQL adopts a commercial type of license.

Thanks, CC.
