No idea.

I don't use vista, and never had any trouble installing activeperl. I suggest that you contact ActiveState in some way. Maybe they have a forum or help desk.

This is a perl forum, so we are not really here to help with platform specific problems, nor application level problems.

Hi, I am one of those questionable people that started with Vista (Home Premium). Not because I think it is a ready/steady OS, but partly out of curiousity, and partly because I needed to work on an old project that happens to run on IIS6/W2000/MSSQL7, but my W2000 machine couldn't handle the size of the database in question anymore. :-(...

**NOTE: This article is written using the 5.8.8 Alpha2 release of Strawberry Perl. I am writing this article with much joy and glee. This is due to the fact that Active State no longer has a monopoly on the issue of Perl on the Windows platform As anyone who code's Perl on the Windows platform knows, the choice that you have (had) for Perl...

Unfortunately, since I last did this (using Windows XP Pro) I've moved on to Windows Vista (Home Premium). MySQL and Apache2 have both installed satisfactorily, but I'm having problems with PHP5....

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not.
