Databases in Perl

Hi list!

I've searched on CPAN for a good database module, but i couldnt find a
decent module.
The thing that i'm searching is a module that can read/write DB4 files.
Regards, Groleo!

Hello I am a web designer who is slowly trying to learn more about web development. I have a client who would like to drive their website using a database so I am now in the perfect situation to move my skills forward. I know a little about databases or the scripting languages that connect them to web pages (is that the right terminology?!) but I am determined to improve my skills in this area.

Hi there, I have a situation where an application needs to import data from number of access mdb files on a daily bases. The file names change every day. The data import is very straight forward: insert into sql_table select * from acess_table There are up to 8 tables in each access file and some access files will have less. So the process needs to figure out which tables exist in

So, I download the latest "stable" tar for perl (5.8.7) and try to compile it on the Solaris 8 (SPARC) box that I administrate. I try all sorts of different switches, but I can't get it to compile. I need it to be compiled with threads. Anyone have any wisdom on how best to do this? Here's a transcript of my latest attempt. It's long; you might want to skip to the bottom, where I try "make" and the fatal errors start happening.

The tutorial section has a lovely lesson on how to use perl to construct a flat file database. As a person very new to perl (learning as fast as I can) could anyone direct me as to how you would invoke this script (supplied from the page as "database.txt". I understand about putting perl scripts into the cgi-bin folder on my server but how do you call it? Everything I have learned to this extremely novice point requires an .html page for a form...

Hello, I need a way to list an instance's databases, in a way which is easy to parse (I can't count on perl or similar scripting tools to be available everywhere). I know of the 'db2 list database directory' command, but its output doesn't qualify for "easy to parse" for me, when I simply need a list of "local" databases (i.e. Directory entry type = Indirect). I've tried browsing around the SYSCAT views, but with no luck.

hello all I desperately need some help with Perl! I am very new to this programming language, never practiced it before, however where I work I have to write a program that does the following: There are two very large databases one is done on Oracle, the other in SQL server. The overall aim is to report the differences of certain fields in the databases. They are both meant to contain similar (if not) the same information but ofcourse the...

Note: You may skip to the end of the article if all you want is the perl code. Introduction Uploading files from a local computer to a remote web server has many useful purposes, the most obvious of which is the sharing of files. For example, you upload images to a server to share them with other people over the Internet. Perl comes ready equipped for uploading files via the CGI.pm module, which has long been a core module and allows users...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
