Split field that has multiple Carriage returns as field delimiters

I am running a query with a select sttement. One of the Fields in the table is defined as LONG, it contains a lot of text that has a variable number of Carriage Returns used as delimieters. I want to split this field into multiple fields to be shown in a query. e.g.

Field contains. Time to read (carriage return) This and that (Carriage return) As well

I want the out put to be as follows.

Field One Field Two Field Three Field Four
Time to read This and that As well <Blank>

The LONG data type has some restrictions. You need to read the data from long filed , store in a intermediate field with VARCHAR2 data type then do any string operations you want.
