my question is that for version control for oracle database at object level i.e. at table etc, oracle 10g SCM will be more feasible soultion or alternatively using Visual Source Safe. Prefereably, i wanted to use VSS, but i don't know that how to integrate oracle database with VSS, since explicitly checkout or checkin files is not available for oracle database as opposed to other programming environments. whether i have to shutdown the database and add the whole basic installation folder contents i.e. datafiles, control files, onlinelog folders to the VSS, and then before working, i have to checkout these folders into that basic installation folders (i.e. making it working folders for VSS), have to do the changes, then have to shut down the database, and then check-in these folders and files into VSS, or there is some other suitabl strategy is available.
cheers
