How to find out when UTL_FILE. PATH is VALID but the directory doesn't exist

Hi,

I have a directory mounted on a Server. During FileIo I get the
correct path to the directory but sometimes the directory doesn't
exist at the location defined. How would i find out wether the
directory exists or not .

Thanks
