On which platform does oracle usually run in the real world? Is it
generally UNIX? Is a fair amount of it on Windows? Does Linux factor
in very much?

Yes, mmmyes, yes
Probably Oracle can tell the split; my impression is Unix/Windows about
the same, Windows catching up on Unix. Linux gaining at the cost of
both - dare not guess which platform loses most
