Documentation, perhaps? The tools *tells* you to check the status of
the Management Server - does it run?
As usual, OS would help; if you were on MS, you would have to start
a service, on Unix boxes do a ps|grep, or use the status option of
the command.

Please note that this not an official newsgroup (in the late '90's it
was replaced by comp.database.oracle.misc by common consent). As a
result, not all ISP carry the newsgroup and some of the individuals who
could help you don't get to read the post.

You have several answers to your re-post in comp.databases.oracle.server

Hi all
I installed Oracle 8i (816) on NT server.
Using Enterprise Manager's Configuration Assistant I created repository.
and oracle management server also started

Now, When I logon to Enterprise Manager Console with the username and password (repository owner) and my machine name (Oracle Server) for Management server, I get the error message,
********************************************
invalid login credentials supplied
********************************************

I checked Oracle is running on the machine. Please help me in resolving this.
