exchange partition across databases

P: 1

I would like to know if it is possible to do an exchange partition between a partitioned
table on dbA and a non partitioned table on dbB using db links.

say I have a partitioned table - billing_records which is range partition - 1 partition for each month.
This table resides on database A. the partition names are jan_2007, feb_2007....

I have a db B. which has the smaller tables afor each month - billing_jan_2007, billing_feb_2007.

Now I want to do an exchange partition between the partition jan_2007 and the table billing_jan_2007
using db_link. Is this possible? I cannot try it out as database A is live production data and I
dont have access to try it out.

If anyone has any ideas on this please let me know.

The only way to do that is by using DBlink. Don't try that on live database.
