BINARY_INTEGER is subtype of INTEGER and assigned values between - -2,147,483,647 to 2,147,483,647. It was the only indexing datatype allowed for index-by tables before ora9i r2.
PLS_INTEGER is subtype of BINARY_INTEGER again 2,147,483,647 to 2,147,483,647. PLS_INTEGER operations use machine arithmetic, so they are generally faster than NUMBER and INTEGER operations. BINARY_INTEGER and PLS_INTEGER are identical in Ora10g.
