Where to place the commit?

51
Hi Experts,

Please help me to place the commit thereby improving the performance.

I have a table of 1000 rows.

I perform the update for all the 1000 rows.

Where should I place the commit? After each row's update or after updating 1000 rows?

Which will be efficient?

Thanks in advance

As a rule of thumb u should commit more often.

so it is recommended to commit after each update command .
it is also recommended to avoid any data loss because of some unavoidable reasons like power failure or connection break in which case everything is rolledback.

Thanks a lot.

If I place the commit after each update, it will take time ( I mean the performance). Can you comment on this?

Regards,
