please help me - Oracle Database

hi

i'm halan ihave a database designed in oracle 8i and i have this message error by starting my base ora-00214

i replace the most the others control file by by the more recent: nothing go on

what can i do please

Cause: An inconsistent set of control files, datafiles/logfiles, and redo files was used.
Action: Use a consistant set of control files, datafiles/logfiles, and redo log files. That is, all the files must be for the same database and from the same time period.

This occurs when control files are not in sync.
Take copy of all costrol files to a directory.

If you have say 3 copies of controlfiles, specify only one file name in the
control_file parameter. try to start the database. If the database opens,
then you are good. If fails, try with another one.

Finally when the database is open, copy the good one as well as all other
controlfile. close and reopen database with original control_file parameter
setup.
