Updating table columns with where exist

I am trying to update columns in one table with a specific words, but I only want to update those columns where data from this table where certain columns in a different table match. I have tried using three different statements with errors on each try. I am using SQL Developer to update an Oracle 10G database. The error I receive is ORA-00920

Listed below is the statement I tried to mimic to accomplish this.


UPDATE suppliers
SET supplier_name = ( SELECT customers.name
FROM customers
WHERE customers.customer_id = suppliers.supplier_id)
WHERE EXISTS * ( SELECT customers.name * * FROM customers
* * WHERE customers.customer_id = suppliers.supplier_id);
Whenever a supplier_id matched a customer_id value, the supplier_name would be overwritten to the customer name from the customers table.

Set F.Failure_code = ‘NEW’, F.REPAIR_CODE = ‘INSTALL’, F.COMPONENT_CODE =’METER’
Where exists
(Select w.work_order_no, w.work_order_task_no
From SA_work_order_task w
Where f.work_order_task_no = f.work_order_task_no and w. work_order_no = f.work_order_no and w.task_desc like ‘Installation 7%’ and w.task_status in('CLOSE', ‘FINISHED’)
