Input mask question

Is there any way to specify an input mask for an IP-Adress in pl/sql?
If not, I would write a function that would handle this, but don't
want to bring down my performance too much, so I was wondering if
there was another way to do this in pl/sql, e.g. the way you can
specify a mask for a telephone number.
