Mix and match

Hi all,

I have a 9i client that has been happily connecting to an 8i database on a
remote server. The server now has 8i AND 9i installed, and the 9i client
won't connect to the database anymore (ORA-01012). I presume the 9i client
is speaking to the 9i listener on the server, which isn't aware of the
databases because they are still running under 8i.

I suppose the easiest solution is to migrate the databases up to 9i. Would
that be the best solution?

TIA
Nick

It may not be the easiest solution.... but it would be the best
solution. Easiest would be to reconfigure your listener and check your
Net8/9 settings.
