disable O/S file cache??

just been tossed in the Oracle Sea; most recently in DB2,
which offers a configuration parameter on NT to turn off
the O/S cache (DB2NTNOCACHE). my o'reilly Oracle book
doesn't mention anything that sounds like that. is there??

Addressed by making sure the NT server properties are set to
'optimize throughput for network applications'
