Ora92 Install Path

2
Selecting for installation
Destination....
Name: OraHome92
Path: C:\Program Files\Oracle

Generates error "The path you have specified (C:\Program Files\Oracle) is invalid. The Oracle Home path may not contain spaces.
useing 8.3 for path name or useing "" around path produces the same result.

Does it mean installtion cannot be done to C:\Program Files\Oracle?

If install needs to be under "C:\Program Files\Oracle" How can can this be done?
I can not believe install always have to be at the root.

Thanks --------

True to it’s ridiculously a**-backwards nature, Oracle shows that it hails from a much simpler time, when file names did not contain spaces, the now long term tradition of “program files” didn’t exist and the Oracle sales team bartered their software in exchange for fur and oxen.

The only method I found to get around this limitation is to create a “virtual” drive using the built-in Windows “subst” command (e.g. subst o: “c:\program files\”) and then tell Oracle to install there (i.e. o:\<homedirectoryname>).
