All databases are supposed to follow the standard SQL syntax. However , certain DBs like the ones from MicroSoft have built in commands which are specific to their particular brand of Databases which renders it vendor specific.

SQL stands for Structured Query Language , so it's a specific language for queries in a db , it's NOT a programming language. It is used to create, modify, retrieve and manipulate data from relational db management systems (DBMS).

Oracle is one of the most famous DBMS, it's produced by Oracle Corp. which provides also softwares for dbs, such as Oracle 9 Client. This is a client for PC used to access a db , it has many components like SQL plus (kind of SQL shell).

You can interface Active Server Pages (ASP) with every kind of db having
OLE-db or ODBC driver, like Oracle or Access.

Bye!

thanks Disangro! I got a clear view about it.

SQL is used for only Querying and

Oracle we can build a database used for programming also.
