Oracle insensitivity

I have an access front end with an Oracle backend. The problem I have run into is that there are static lookups in textboxes all over the app. In these lookups it has static criteria (i.e. "Execution='Bond'"). The problem I have run into now is that the Oracle data is stored in caps. So the lookups are returning nulls. The uppercase solution would be a huge task in the app and will force a full regression test.

Is there anyway to turn on case insensitivity Oracle?

Thx

There is no case insensitivity in oracle end.

You should use oracletable.oracledata = upper("your_val") in your application. which means, change the front-end application SQLs and Oracle-end procedures/functions.
This needs testing of full s/w again (But Not Really!!! You r not changing any complecated logic). But you have no other option.
It's actually a good practice to keep UPPER-CASE data at back-end irrespective of what is being entered in the front-end. users may feed data the way they want. For comparison, readability and maintainance purpose its very helpful and less time consuming.
Example: user inserts a Name : jOHN tRAver
instead of JOHN TRAVER or John Traver.
That person will be sent his account statement every month.
Your system has to convert it to JOHN TRAVER or John Traver while generating a statement. Again same problem at the time of Search/ lookup query.
Hey, think from a reliable and faster system/software perspective.

Hope this helps.
