Need Query without Union and minus.

We need a query which retrieves option_code, for a plan from OPTION
table which are unique in (market, "ALL").
I have an example below
PLAN1 TEXAS 1000 1
PLAN1 TEXAS 2000 2
PLAN1 ALL 1000 3
PLAN1 ALL 3000 4

When we ran the SQL, for PLAN1, we need to get
1000 1
2000 2
3000 4

Currently we are using union and minus to retrieve unique options in
both markets.
select option_code, rate from OPTION
where plan = 'PLAN1'
and market= 'TEXAS'
select option_code, rate from OPTION
where plan = 'PLAN1'
and market= 'ALL'
select option_code, rate from OPTION
where plan = 'PLAN1'
and market= 'TEXAS'

Is there any way to do without using union and minus. We tried to use
NOT EXISTS, but it is slowing the query...

Thanks in advance for the help......

union and minus are the best (most efficient) way to do it. You shouldn't be
trying to avoid them.

Hi, I will write ANSI C89. Is the following struct defenition correct ? I wrote it with VC6(Windows IDE) and at first no Problem. As I changed a compiler switch to 'no language extension', the compiler said that the union has no name. Is it right that in ANSI C the union must be named inside this kind of structure ?

I have a simple DataGrid that displays a list of characteristics and allows you to edit a description for each characteristic. The query that feeds this involves a join, as the characteristics and their descriptions are in separate tables. The DataKeyField of the DataGrid is set to the description ID, but I also need to be able to access the characteristic ID in my update query (without displaying it in the DataGrid). I haven't had much...

Hi there, I am trying to do a UNION with slightly different queries, it appears to work but it now bring in another problem. The second part of the UNION need to have a an extra field value ("NULL") added thus to match the number of fields between the two select queries. The problem comes that I some have duplicate records and want to condense them down so that "Table_Form_Element_ID" has a single record against it but I want the record to be...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
