How to single numeric values from a field in a table which has multiple numeric value in a field of a table. And that table contains thousands of records.

Suppose we have a table customer having fields like
CUST_ID, CASTE, AGE etc.
101 (12,89,76,34,66 ,90,36) 23
128 (27,45,71,211,4 3,107,67,451) 26
117 (11,23,32,265,1 42,88,67,98) 30
............... ............... ............... ...............
............... ............... ............... ...............
Now i want to get single values of caste field for each cust_id, we have thousand of record in table.

Thanks in advance..

Using Access 97, Windows XP I'm receiving a Numeric Field Overflow error during text import that I did not receive before I split my database. Another thread I found suggested that the cause of this error might be due to columns on the text file being in a different order than fields in the destination table, but they're the same in my case. I'm thinking a workaround might be to import to a temp table in the front-end, run an append...

I am working on a sales report where I show weekly sales by category for each of the 52 weeks in the year. Each record in my table/report has the 52 weeks of sales in it. I want to highlight to top five weeks of sales for each category by using a conditonal format to highlight these top five weeks. I've been trying to find a way to do this but have not been sucessful looking through many books on Access and in reading the user groups. If...

Hi All, I hope this is the correct mailing list for this question. But neither postgresql.org nor google could help me out on this subject. I did find one disturbing topic on the mailing list archives (http://archives.postgresql.org/pgsql-admin/2000-05/msg00032.php), but since it was quite old I'm posting my question anyway. I'm writing a generic database layer that should support a fixed number of generic numeric types on a number of...

I know that subject probably did not adequately explain anything so here goes... I have an access file that needs to be transposed from its current format to a new format so that I can then export as a flat file to be imported into a shopping cart. This file is to create a set of attributes/options for each product. The file I have is in a pretty standard format:

Hi, I'm having some troubles with my numeric-types in my VB.NET 2005 application, together with a SQL Server 2000. - I first used Single in my application, and Decimal in my database. But a Single with value 4.475 was converted to a Decimal with value 4.4749999999999996D. So after inserting and selecting it from the database I got another value than the original!

I have a table in Access with about 3000 records. There are ~60 unique values in the ID field for the 3000 records. What I would like to do is automatically generate multiple Excel worksheets within a single workbook with these records. I would end up with around 500 worksheets, 1 for each unique ID value. I was thinking this could be done if I have an exported flag column in the table, and I search for the max (or min) on the ID...

I have been losing my mind trying to parse an XML document (with nested child elements, not all of which appear in each parent node) into a DataGrid object. What I want to do is "flatten" the XML document into a text document with a single row for each parent node (that has all of the values from all of the child nodes for that row) The DataView within VS 2005 IDE displays my 15 or so child tables - and knows that some parent rows...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
