How to export and import oracle DB using toad?

1 New Member

I am new to Oracle administration and hope someone can help me out on this as i am struggling to make it work....

I am doing development work using oracle database on my own development pc.. the oracle database is installed locally on my pc... how should i port the whole database (including tables, pl sql, triggers, indexes, etc) to another server after all development/testing is completed?

I have tried using toad function (DBA -> Data Import/Export -> Data Pump Export Wizard) to export the whole database and then used (DBA -> Data Import/Export -> Data Pump Import Wizard) to import to another database. The export works with the dmp file created (no errors). However, the import log shows a whole long list of errors about "object type already exists..." and unique constrait (PK) violated etc...

I have chosen the settings where if table exists to replace.. is there something that i have done wrongly or are there easier steps to that? Seems that those tables with errors are mostly system tables (eg MGMT$CSA_HOST_N ICS, DBA_OLAP_FUNCTI ONS, etc)

Would greatly appreciate if some one can advise me.. .thanks lots :)

We are looking for assistance in setting up export/import jobs that will use DLT tapes managed by Netbackup. The issue seems to be how to specify the "file" parameter of export/import so that it is written by bpbackup or read by bprestore. We are transitioning to Veritas from an older and very different tape management system. If anyone has excerpts of export/import scripts that they may share that show how to do this it would be greatly...

Greetings, I'm using the DoCmd.TransferText method to export the results of a MS Access query to a csv file. The csv will then be used to load an Oracle table. In other systems such as TOAD for Oracle, it's possible to force an additional comma delimiter after the last column, if the column is empty on a particular row. Oracle requires this additional comma on empty rightmost columns, for importing purposes.

Hi. I receive a database backup on a daily basis. I then import this dump on another server which I use for software development. There is two db's being hosted on this server. We test software upgrades against these two db's. The "refresh" needs to be completed at least once a day, sometimes 4-5 times a day. I need the quickest way of doing this task. I have extremely limited knowledge on scripting. What I need is something that I can just...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
