How to use D-Link2730U Lan Port as WAN

Hello everybody,

I have a router that provide internet through its ONLY LAN port to an IPBX system.

My initial idea was using a switch with that LAN port to make it available for more machines but it is not possible since that router can't provide DHCP. so I decided to use a D-Link 2730U router for that purpose.

the think is I want one port of D-link to take in the Internet and through DHCP distribute it to the rest.

the problem is that when I manage to make the IPBX work and as soon I plug a PC on other LAN port the IPBX stops working but I have the internet.

I narrowed down the problem to this:

my internet router is using 192.168.10.1
if I set the D-link to 192.168.10.3 the PCs get 192
.168.10.3 trough DHCP as default gateway hence not working.

is there any way I can avoid that?

thank you in advance.

Try setting the default gateway at the D-Link router, see page 60 of the User Manual, under the heading Routing, Default Gateway. This is part of the advanced settings for the router and you should be able to tell all the PC's to use IPBX router as their gateway.

Hello Banfa,

Thank you for your replay.

under Default gateway I have no interfaces and it is logic since I don't have any WAN interface connected. As I said, I use one of the LAN interfaces for that purpose.

Best regards.
In that case try out policy routing from page 61 of the same manual.
