Server shows 2 differant MAC address's for the network port

Working with a Dell A200 server, it keeps triping the security on the switch because it broadcasts 2 differant MAC addresses. This system does have 2 network adapters built in each with it's own MAC (the primary MAC ends with 36, the secondary ends with 37). When eaither adapter is connected to the switch, the switch pulls first one MAC (ending either 36 or 37 depending on which port you are pluged into) then another MAC ending in 38. The ports are not bridged nor could it be software related as this happens even if no OS or other software in installed, (even tried with no HD's installed and still the same problem). Any one have an idea, I have never seen this before. I do have a new sysemboard on order.

If it happens without an hdd loaded, it sounds like a BIOS issue - is there a BIOS update for the A200?

It sounds like both ports are trying to grab the same IP address - if you don't need both you could disable one in the BIOS.

I'm guessing both are cabled? Have you tried booting them and assigning static IPs to each?

On the other end, it may be a NAC issue - what network access control are you implementing?
