Setting Up A VLAN

233 100+
I setup a vlan, vlan 5, and will have our ip phones as well as the phone server on this vlan. All the ports for this vlan are on the same physical switch, so I do not think I will have the need to venture off into vtp configurations. I was looking at dhcp snooping to given hosts on vlan 5 the ability to request ip addresses. Essentially, here is what I would like to accomplish:

1. the ip phone need to communicate with the phone server, that is it. With this in mind I would not think I would need to configure much for the phones besides the ability to attain an ip.
2. I would like to access the web interface for the phone server outside of vlan 5. I am new to routing and am not sure what all this would involve.
3. I would also like to have the ability to access the internet from the phone server for obvious reason. I would imagine that once the vlan 5 hosts can attain ip addresses, I would set up any needed routing based off the ip addresses?

All in all I feel this is a simple setup, but given this is my first attempt at vlan configuration, any help would be appreciated.

I think my first step would be assigning an IP address to vlan 5, but this address would need to be on a different subnet from vlan 1.

edit:
Do I need to create an additional subnet for each vlan created, which in my case would be one subnet?

I need to configure an additional subnet for this vlan. My address on the current subnet is 172.20.5.151/22. How would I go about creating another subnet?

What router are you using?

We are using a Catalyst 3750 as a layer 3 switch. My issues now is finding the credentials to access the switch. More than likely I will have to wait until the weekend to perform the password recovery.

I'm actually going through some CCNA review right now, so I was hoping someone else would post up here, but I can find you some links for this. I would start:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...=Google+Search

Sorry for not posting sooner, like I said I was hoping someone with more Cisco experience would post.
