using usb port for data transfer between to PC

hi i need to transfer data between two stand alone pc. is it possible for transfer of data between 2 pc using usb port of the 2 machines. both the pc are using windows xp sp2.

I imagine it is, but good luck finding a USB cord that will allow you to do it. I think there might be adapters you can buy, but why not just use a crossover cable?

Hi Karthi, you can use a usb cable to transfer files or a crossover Cat5 or Cat6 cables without any problems.
