Is there anybody knows anything about "automatic discovery mechanism". What is it? And what is it using for?

It could be any number of things. In a networking sense it's a machine that will use a protocol to "discover" other machines or applications running on the environment. This puts heavy load on the environment, and is usually done at night. OSPF can be considered an automatic discovery mechanism as it will traverse your network to create a routing table so it can more efficiently deal with traffic.

There are other uses of that depending on your industry or context, does that make sense with what you are talking about? If not, can you give us the context in which it was used? (The other really common use of "discovery" is dealing with lawyers, and that's not only completely different, but a PAIN.)
