Hello, cmrhema!

Try AdAware SE, http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ get the home version, do a full system scan, see if that works.

If AdWare does not zap it, try logging on to your machine as Administrator, you will not need a password, go to your C: drive, see if there is a winantivirus pro folder there, delete that folder, then use Add/Remove programs, if winantivirus pro is in the list.

If all esle fails, type 'removing winantivirus pro from my computer' into Google, see what come's up, Microsoft may have an article out there on this.

Sorry for your troubles.

This is a phishing website. Somehow this program comes along and is a pain to get rid of. A family friend had this same problem, even signed up for the thing with her credit card! I contacted her credit card company and let them know it was a noob mistake, and everything was fine. I tried all kinds of programs to get rid of this thing, but the best way to get rid of something like this is just a full reformat :)

I just had this come up yesterday - annoying popups and even when I went to the Norton Symantec site to try and fix it I got a page come up for it instead.

found this and it seems to have worked http://www.aceviper.net/WinAntiVirus_Pro_2006.php

wasn't sure if it was going to do anything as after you've installed the programme virtumondo it just tells you to turn the PC off and restart, but I haven't had any annoying popups since

I've got Norton internet security and the phising filter is turned on, so not sure how this got through

one thing the Symantec site did say is to turn off your System Restore before you do a system scan as these things can copy themselves and come back if you do a system restore in future.

If the AdAware doesn't work, I'd recommend looking at SpyBot Search and Destroy, but only as a last measure (other people I know have had good experiences with it, but I have had it mess up several computers I was working on).

Befor looking for the folder I would check Add/Remove programs for this... then look for the folder and delete it...

The only other thing I can suggest is... A reformat =)

unless more details are given so I can help find way of removal.
