creating a packet sniffing software

im a final year undergrad student..and i want to develop a packet sniffing software..but ive got no idea about what software's to use..hope i can get some help here..thanks so much.. or if there's other ideas, but related to networking will be good..thanks so much

My suggestion to you Anton is to look for various sniffing tools already available, and pay real close attention to linux and unix based ones i ne pizdi =)

Here is a great LINK to get you started. Why reinvent the wheel when you can look at it and make your own.
