Hey guys, not sure if any of you people know about Windows Media Encoder, but I have a question.

When I run the program and get the internet address of the broadcast, and type it in to my internet browser's address bar, I always get a "Page cannot be found." Is it becuase you can only access live streams by typing them into the "Open URL" button in Windows Media Player?

Thanks,

When entering an IP into the address bar of your browser, unless that IP you have is linked to a stream or a Index some type of page redirecting / triggering an event to open your default player on your PC you will always get a "Page can not be found" or if by luck you do enter such a valid IP it may take you to a site that could be www.google.com for example. So to use such an IP given to you for streaming for audio the "Open URL" in this case is your best bet. Because the application is programmed to find the IP of a broadcast and not a server that is HOSTING a site or router so on so forth.

Donít get me wrong you can indeed enter an IP VIA the address bar of your browser and it pull up your default player and start the streaming how ever its like I said normally that would be an index that is rerouting or triggering an event to do so using HTML, PHP, JAVASCRIPT or many other languages.

Hope this answers your question
