folder security in network

i am having ten systems with win xpsp2 in Lan.



tally is installed in the two systems in that one system have to share the tally files inthe c drive to second system now the work is going on


but i am fearing that any one of the user can delet the tally shared folder i wll loss my hole data how can i secure the data

pls help me .....

Change the data to 'read-only' for whatever users you want.

(Right click->properties->security)

Alternatively, if it's protection from networked users you want when sharing files on your own PC (you don't mention any servers) then set up your shares with R/O access. Any user on your PC would have full access in this scenario but networked users would be restricted.
Bear in mind, some software doesn't work very well unless it has full write access to the data.
