CMD.exe window not able to be shut down.

Usually after a telnet session has timed out when running from within a CMD window, i am unable to close/remove the process from bottom toolbar. The application still appears to be running in task manager, but there is no processes associated with it. ie no cmd.exe running. I believe it is a windows bug. Anyone else seen/fixed this

If it's connected to a unix based system - try using Ctrl-D to close it before it times out.
Otherwise, you should be able to end the process using Task Manager.

The Task Manager will not work as there is no processes assocaited with

Are you sure you're looking in the Processes tab and not in the Applications tab?
If it isn't a process then there is no process to finish.
