This should be moved to the networking section.

If you're SSHing in probably has some form of *NIX on it so look up linux/unix commands.

Depends on the router you are using.

You need to tell us what kind of router or firewall is this. The default port is 22, but you need uthentication info in order to get info from it, or reset it and user default authentication.

But when I use the MySQL ODBC driver 3.51 to connect to a MySQL server on my own LAN, the driver tells me it cannot make the connection. Here are the ODBC driver connection parms: Data Source Name: (free field - name my "my linux box" will do nicely) Host/Server Name (or IP) - something like MSQLUserName@ServerName.net...

My code starts a TCP/IP socket listener and waits for incoming connections. This works fine on my system and my test system but I have a customer who say it does not work on their system. As far as I can tell the problem is they are using a DSL modem with a router internal to it. So basically my software is listening to IP address but the external connection is trying to connect to xx.xx.xx.xx on the internet which in concept...

Hello, I've been trying to create a WCF SOAP Router Service that can forward not just the message body but also any security headers set by the originator of the message. The destination service I'm routing messages to uses WSHttpBinding, SSL with UserName/Password client credentials. Using guidance from the Technology samples I can create a router that forwards messages without security credentils but not with them. Can anybody point me...

'Just found this site and appears someone can answer my seemingly foolish question. Let me paint a picture to put my question into understandable context: visualize a 4-prong pitchfork. The handle is a connection cable as are the four individual prongs. The handle goes to the ISP, and the four prongs each go to four individual computer stations, each with an active computer on it. Now, can each of the individual computers interchange...

Hi - I just bought an Asus laptop with wireless capabilities. I have a desktop that I've used for years that is hooked up to Cox cable for high speed internet through a Motorola SG5120 cable modem. The modem is ethernet / USB compatible, but it currently hooks to my desktop with a USB cable. I bought a Linksys wireless router last night and tried to install. The first problem was that I couldn't hook the USB cable from the desktop...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
