depending on your sys admin's policies, if you go into my network places, then windows entire network you should be able to see a list of all the computers... you should not be able to connect to them, or do anything on them unless the other computer has created permission for you. having said that if they can, your IT dept needs their bum smacked :)

I think what you are looking for is the Windows Remote Desktop Connection application. I think it comes installed by default (but you may have to do some searching for it). You can enable RDP connections by right-clicking My Computre and going to the Remote tab.

Alright, I promise I will do this fr only the last time. My apologies for jumping in. Please accept this recycled solution, just posted this in two threads:

=============== ===

You need sharing capabilities. I do not want to go too much into it myself at the risk of losing you in the message. Could not find you a great.understan dler tutorial either. But I did find you an emaple you can follow, I use this at work:

This deals with files and printers, but should help you get started to see your machine carrying vista: http://www.cnet.com.au/desktops/pcs...40055565,00.htm

Pay close attention to Step 3: Create a workgroup

Please write again if this doe not help. I will look for more options. If all else fails, be prepared to read a journal from me:-)

In a bit!

You can use a software "Remote Administrator (RAdmin)". This software can be downloaded from www.radmin.com. Using this software you can open other's PC in different modes like - Full Control, View Only, Telnet, File Transfer etc. It's a very good and light weight software. Install this software on both the ends and enjoy working on it. It doesn't require any settings.

Cheers

This functionality is BUILT INTO WINDOWS. You do not need to download any software or perform any elaborate steps. Just run Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection tool.

Microsoft's Remote Desktop and VNC both do this.

Perhaps, there is no bigger sleazy company in the entire Maple Republic ( Canada ) than Matrox Graphics Inc. I paid $100+ through my nose circa 1999 for Matrox Millenium II and Mystique. It works well under NT4.0 however, a month ago I upgraded to Win 98. Guess what? The main feature in the Matrox Inc Video cards was their desktop, and

At work we are using a virtual desktop manager called AltDesk (http://www.astonshell.com/), and it is causing a weird and extremely annoying problem with the VB.NET application I am developing. If I start my app, open a test form using ShowDialog() (this is a menu choice on the main app), and then switch to a different virtual desktop, the test form immediately closes (in what seems to be an abnormal way -- the Closing event is raised,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
