I my self am having the same issue being I do not TRUST VISTA I will follow up on this post and let you know when I figure it out I have a feeling its Windows Defender.... part of it... I havenít had much time to play with it more but I will let you know what I find out. In the mean time I was able to make one of my PC's with XP on it, Share a folder and Vista pick that up there for moving Files back and forth. Might consider that for time being?

I can probably help you, just retype your problem because I had a hard time figuring out what exactly the problem was!

I got my XP machine to look into my Vista machine, but Vista refuses to look into the XP machine. I installed Microsoft LLTD Responder on the XP machine as per Microsoft. It still does not work.

I am also looking for the Vista driver for an old Epson ActionLaser1500 .

Same happened to me, except it was the XP computer that couldn't look into the Vista one.

Try downloading and installing Microsoft LLTD Responder. It helped my XP machine look into the Vista machine.

Lol oops, nevermind. I tried to download it on the Vista, not the XP. I installed the program on all of the XPs, and the map works fine. Thanks!

Oh and the map didn't put my printer on there. Do you know how I can go about doing that?

Start by making sure the printer is shared and that you can connect to it by typing \\machinename and right click on the printer and hit connect

see if that works and reply

I have run a home network for a long time using XP. Last week, I changed out 2 of the 3 machines to Vista. When I set up the network, as I had with XP, I have had nothing but problems. I can not access vista #1 from vista #2, Even though I did make sure to share the entire drive, I can not even access the public folder. Vista 1 can not see xp #3 Vista 2 can not access Vista 1 Again, entire drive was shared. I can get to the public...

Well, to start I just got Windows Vista a few months ago. It works great, but the trouble came when I decided to connect all of my computers - XP Home, XP Professional and Vista - to a home network. I have a broadband connection that connects into my wireless router, and the Vista connects, wired, through that router. My ethernet printer also connects through that router. I have 2 wireless computers, an XP Home and XP Professional, that connect...

All of my computers were working fine with my network, 3 with XP, 1 with Vista, 1 Network HD and 1 network printer. Router is a D-Link DIR-655. I haven't changed anything but none of my XP computers can see the network and the Vista can, I get an error that the network is not accessible. I can still connect to the internet with all of the computers...Did Vista hijack my network? How do I fix this? Thank you for any help you can give me.

I've read several posts on the topic, but not found any answers. Her'esmy problem: Originally had two XP machines on home network (wired) called MSHOME. Worked dandy. Both pcs could access shared files on the other and both could use the printer on the primary. Replaced the primary (which has the printer) with Vista machine. Fired up the Vista and it claims to be on "Network2". Under network 2 are two workgroups: WORKGROUP which has...

So, Ive got this one business client that's got about 10 Windows XP machines on a network, and added a Windows Vista machine to the mix. The network is a mix of wireless and wired computers on a wireless router connected with a switch. The "server" is wired, and this vista machine is on a wireless usb dongle. There's one XP machine that acts as a simple file sharing server, and at first the Vista machine wouldnt see it, but I could ping...

I have recently come across a problem in Vista when trying to add it to a network. This is the first time I have had this problem and I haven't found anything relevant on google. I'll try my best to explain the problem: I work for the IT department for all the local schools in my area. 9 schools are connected via one network. We use linux Samba servers and as an extra precaution we don't allow it's name to be visible. On XP it automaticly...

I have a home network running wired and wireless via a D-Link DSL Modem/Router. For some time, I've been trying to overcome the problem of not being able to get any of the XP Home (SP3) machines to access my Vista HPx32 (SP1) laptop through the wire. (Though vice versa works.) I can push and pull stuff when the Vista laptop is doing the 'driving'. The XP machines all see the laptop - but when I try to push/pull any files to/from the shared...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
