Input string was not in correct format

cmd.Parameter.Add("@rate",SqlDbType.Decimal).Value =Convert.ToDecimal(grdvwpurorder.Rows[index].Cells[6].Text);

Here i am getting error that "Input string was not in correct format".
Please help me to sortout this error.

What is the Datatype of @rate parameter in SqlQuery? Make Sure it is Decimal.
